1024 x 768 on a 19" LCD question

Bob D.

My wife is having some trouble reading the screen on a 17" CRT @ 1024 x 768.
(No, it's not her glasses. She has a brand new prescription just for the
computer.) She loves the 1024 x 768 setting, so the solution sounds like a
larger screen. Are there any 19" LCD monitors that do a GOOD job @ 1024 x
786? I realize the problem of non-native resolution with LCD, my laptop at
work looks like crap at anything other than 1024 x 786. I'm hoping someone
has solved this problem on an LCD monitor. (Or maybe someone makes a 19"
with native 1024 x 768.)

Bottom line: Can anyone recommend a 19" LCD monitor model that looks GOOD at
1024 x 786?

There are NO 19" LCD monitors on the market by any company that use 1024 x
786. The industry STANDARD native resolution for 19" is 1280 x 1024. Using
a non-native resolution with an LCD monitor will always result in a lower
quality image.
The solution: Use the native resolution, and in XP go into the graphics
card's properties and set the fonts and icons to Large. That will solve
your problem.
