*Also do i need the dual core processor now before dx10 and vista or will a single core have the same result. And what will i need to update hardware wise when vista and dx 10 comes out? Will everything have to change???

DX10, as per other DX offerings, will be aimed at your graphics cards and in Vista only ... I ain't seen any built yet.
