. "My Network Places" - How to define a password

Don J

I'm running Win'XP Home on two machines. I have the firewalls diabled on
both machines.

I'm successfully pinging each PC from the other.

I'm starting in "My Network Places" on the second PC. When I try to access
the first PC from the second I get a dialog box that asks for a password. I
don't have any passwords set on either machine. Heavily grayed out is the
statement "<Name of first machine>\Guest". The "Guest" account on the first
machine was inactive. I turned it on and tried to set a password. There
wasn't an entry for a password. The Guest account wouldn't accept a
password.

What do I do? What password do I use? How do I set a password?

What's going on here Don, you have posted this same question four times this
morning, and what seems like every day now for a few days now. You should
stick with one thread.
