My Music Shortcut missing

N

Nick

Hi, hope someone can advise me here.

Somehow I have lost the menu item from the Start Menu that opens My Music.

I still have My Documents and My Pictures.

I looked into the registry and found thre or four entries as 'My Music' with
no path so I typed in the correct path, however, even with a reboot, the My
Music folder still does not appear in the Start Menu!

Thanks for any help in advance!

Right click the Start button | Properties | Customize button |
Advanced tab | Scroll down and place a check mark in the box next to My
Music |
OK your way back out

If that is not a choice...

Visit here...
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Read the instructions at the top
Scroll down to
240. Right hand side
Double click...
Restore My Music Folder on the Start Menu

Or check these registry settings:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
and/or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Value Name: NoStartMenuMyMusic
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: 0 or 1
0 = default
1 = remove folder

If NoStartMenuMyMusic does not exist, it's the same as allowing My Music
folder on the start menu.

Same as Group Policy:
Remove My Music icon from Start Menu
Local Computer Policy\User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu
and Taskbar

Hope this helps. Let us know.
