Start Menu Missing Items.

Jeff Ingram

Hello,

Recently my start menu has been missing several items such as My Computer,
My Documents, My Pictures and My Music. I've checked and I "do not" have my
Start Menu set to Classic Start Menu. I've tried setting it to Classic and
then back to the default Start Menu, but those items still don't come back.

I've check to see if I have a restore point, but I have none.

Anyone know how I can get my Start Menu items back.

Any help appreciated,

Jeff

If you have XP Pro...

You can use the Group Policy editor (Gpedit.msc) under the following
location to configure Start menu features:
User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Start Menu and Taskbar

Policy: Remove user folders from the Start Menu
Description: Removes all user-specific folders except My Documents (My
Pictures, My Music, Favorites, and Recent Documents) from the Start menu.
Also removes the corresponding checkboxes from the Start menu customization
