I only have a classic start menu selection in Windows XP

Windows XP Home Edition. I had problems with ip address on comp. Paid to get
it fixed. My start menu was changed to classic when they cross looped into
computer. I cannot get them to contact me back. It's been weeks.

When I select the 'properties' on my start menu, it no longer gives me the
option to select "Start menu". It only shows the "Classic Menu" selection.
It is selected and I cannot de-select it. I really do miss my "New Start
Menu". I cannot restore or I might lose my ip address corrections. Can
anyone Help?????

Hello Deb,

XP Start Menu choice option missing in Start Menu properties

Go to Start => Run and type in "regedit" {without the quotes}

Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
\Explorer

In the right-hand pane, right-click on NoSimpleStartMenu and Modify
its Value to decimal 0 [dword:00000000]

Logoff and logon again (or restart) for the changes to take effect.

Thanks to all of you! This is by far the best site out there. None of the
other sites could even answer me. The NoSimpleSmartMenu was not there, but i
went to the Kelly's Corner website you recommended. It had the exact
download I needed to fix it. You all are wonderful!!!! I have my Start Menu
back! God Bless You All!!!!!!
