My Music, My Pictures

No matter how many times I delete or ersae the "my music"
and "my pictures" folders from My Documents and other
places they mysteriously reappear. I run XP Pro. Is there
any way I can permanently rid my system of these unwanted
folders?

Open your Window Registry.

Start > Run > (type in and press ENTER) REGEDIT

Go to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders

On the right side you can see the name of the folder in your documents which
you can modify or
delete them. eg. My Pictures

After you have done, open your documents folder, delete My Pictures folder,
press F5, you won't
see it appeare again.

Good Luck!

Your are welcome Jack,

But, I should worn you earlier to backup your registry first.
Should you make any mistake, it would be trouble dealing
with a registry, unless you have made a backup (which can
be done by right-click on "Shell Folders" in registry, then
select "export"). That should be usefull when something
goes wrong.

Anyway, I'm glad you've done it.

Regards,
Krappo.
