Hi all,

I urgently need help with this one...
For some reason the database opens without asking for logins anymore.
It automatically opens as administrator on all Computers.

Help

Thanks in advance...

OK, thanks for the help.

Problem solved. Luckily I had an old backup with only 2 users missing...

I don't believe your problem is solved at all. Since folks were able to get
in using their default system.mdw, it isn't secured.

You might now have them joined to your backup mdw, or you are using a
desktop shortcut, so it appears to be secure, but it isn't.

You can test this by joining to system.mdw as your default workgroup. Close
Access and try opening the mdb from Windows Explorer. If you can, then your
mdb is not secured.

Joan,

Thanks for that. I checked this and it works as it should.

I cannot open it unless I have my shortcut working as follows (I'm sure you
know what I mean)
"access.exe" "Mde/mdb file" "Security file"

What I did is overwrite the security file by one with similar name (the
backup version that I had saved somewhere else). It worked and everything
roles as it should again.
