My long list games that runs and dosen't run

Well run out disk space dran I guest I try the other 30+ more game I have not counting the few bough on line later on after format
but I wait a few days.

You take note that some game here have you wait for the game to get to main menu without using the esc key which love to do in most
case it will not start with video or mouse will not work after words.

That was a great post. Doom 3 is missing out of the list so I will report
here that it runs spectacularly on an ASUS A8N32SLI/Nvidia 7600GT/1 Gig
DDR400/1280x1024 UHQ (if AA off). I also didn't see GTA Vice City but it is
on my to do list.

A lot of hard work went into that post and thank-you for it. As an addendum,
Star Wars: Battlefront II crashed to the desktop in spite of all possible
compatibility options.

ty ty for that list we all appreciate the hard work and the time invovled in
trying every one of those!!
I also have a few too add as not compatible RealArcade will not work and
they are not even considering a beta version they apparently are waiting for
the final release of VISTA thumbs down to them!
Comcast games on demand will not run either no error codes and no help on
those regardless of paying monthly for them!!
HP games with wild tangent will load but then the game is in slow motion
very frustrating... states graphic drivers need upgrading with no upgrades
available

now i am off to try the yahoo games on demand will update you on my progress
as well

Good list, I suggest trying compat settings and update video drivers.
You have a few games "such as Thief" that you say doesn't work. It works
fine here. A few others also work, Just took a little tweaking with the
compat list.

I actually went to ATI for thier beta driver for my ATI Exoress 200 and i am
trying the games with that so i can kill two birds with one stone. When VISTA
is ready for the shelf you cant be tweaking at that point. Is anyone else
trying out beta video drivers? If so hows it going with that and playing
games? My driver keeps stating that i need to update it.

I discovered by accident that Kickstart 2.09 which allows you to play DOS
games in XP works on Vista. At least I can play a Heretic wad called
Resurrect (GREAT wad BTW - you need to use the cheat "game all" and "game
weapons" after you hit the tilde key to get the console to turn your enemies
into chickens and get healing urns, etc. because it's a VERY tough wad).

I have Doomsday Kickstart 2.09 installed on my C drive in Home XP (I have a
dual boot with Vista on a separate partition) and for the heck of it I
double-clicked on it and started to play Heretic. You could have knocked me
over with a feather when I saw the game start up. Heretic is just
about my favorite game of all time.

Now with Kickstart and Jdoom, etc. you have to have the original game to
get files off the disks to play them. There are OTHER ways (ahem) of
obtaining those files though. ;-) Actually, I DO have the original games.
So, basically you can play all the Doom games, Heretic, and other DOS
games with it.

Now I have NOT installed Kickstart on my Vista installation....I am playing
it OFF of the XP drive installation.

btw, great work on that list and for typing it in your (obviously) un-native

Take Ecco off of your list --- although not perfect, since running AutoPlay
from the CD still won't work. But, if you go into the CD folder tree and
find the setup.exe for the version you want (like 32-bit) and right click to
Properties, you can select Compatibility on the setup.exe to run as XP SP2.
Program then installs and runs very well.
