My keyboard shortcuts for international characters in Word 2002 d.

I'm typing a word document and I need to inset diacritics over some
characters and the keyboard shortcuts for international characters do not
work. I see the character in the shortcut that I need to insert but when I
try the key combination, I get nothing. Any suggestions or help? T

One option would be to install the keyboard corresponding to the characters
you're using. Another option, in Word at least, usually is to press
Ctrl+[accent] followed by the character you want accented. For example, if I
press Ctrl+' followed by an e, I get é. Ctrl+Shift+6 followed by u gives me
û.
