You have some spyware on your machine or some adware
that needs to be removed.

There are several free programs you can install to find
and remove this. Spybot is one or Spy Sweeper (it has a
free trial version) will find and remove much of this
trash. Also, ADWARE from Lavasoft can be installed to
eliminate a lot of the irritating pop-ups.

I have the same problem. Check this out. Disconnect your cable to the
internet. Does the unwanted web page still open.

While on line if you go to one the the sites on the web page that appears on
the unwanted browser it will open a page up. As well as a barrage of pop up
that say "YOU HAVE SPYWARE ON YOU SYSTEM. DOWN LOAD THIS TO REMOVE IT"

If so you are having the same problem I am having and apparenty a number of
other people

Norton,Spy Bott, Spy Sweep, Adaware DO NOT HELP!! I tryed them all. No one
seems to be able to fix this problem.

Including the makers of the spyware programs and Norton. I have written to
both.

I am totally pissed off!!!! As far as I am concerned this is a virus!
Norton and MICROSOFT needs to do something!!

I have the same problem, and have been working through Ad-
aware, but so far, no answer. It would be somewhat
comforting if MS at least said something in response to
all the comments about this subject.

I have been battling with the same problem, but finally came up with two
solutions.
1. Install AVG6, which I fould to be the most effective anti virus tool, and
it's free.
Secondly, if the unwanted site keeps on coming back, turn off "system
restore"(My Computer - Properties), then go to regedit, BACK IT UP and look
for the offending file. Remove it and exit. Reboot and then you can turn on
"system restore again. Believe me, it worked. After that AVG did all the work
automatically.
