my dvd drive not detected after formatting and reinstalling of win

recently i had formatted my drive and reinstalled xp2 but dvd drive not
detected and not shown in my computer and i checked device manager it says
the driver corrupt or missing(code 39)
i uninstalled the device and then reinstalled by keeping the cd which
come bundles with my dvd drive then the dvd drive is detected and when i
restarted the same problem persists i had tried one more formatting and
reinstalling xp but in vain
please help....

I used Method 2: Manually delete the registry entries

1) first, format your HD, then try to copy your Windows CD content on it,
and then try to install Windows from the HD, not from the CD.

2) Your Installation must work, then try to install your dvd unit.
