my drives dont work!!!!!

i have a problem with my cd-rom drive. I put the cd
inside the drive but is does not do anything. i tried
every single step in the troubleshoot section and it does
not work. when i uninstall it and then install it again
all i get is this "Windows cannot load the device driver
for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or
missing. (Code 39)" i even used the system restore
feature but it does not work also and since the cd-rom
drive does not work i cant evn put the system recovery cd
because the drive will not load it up.
Please help me .

I'm having the same problem. I assume I'm going to have
to download the floppy disk version of system restore
from the Windows XP download section. I would like to
skip all that and just reload the missing driver.
