I have recently started having a problem with my Windows XP Home Edition,
before and after I installed SP2. I have 5 accounts on my computer. Everytime
anyone logs onto their account, all 5, they immediately get the "My
Documents" window displayed twice. Why is this happening and what can I do to
stop it? As I am not a guru, I'd appreciate an explanation in as simple terms
as possible. Many thanks in advance. Alan KS.

My Computer>C>Documents and Settings>All Users>Start Menu>Programs>Startup.
If there is a shortcut to My Documents, delete it; shortcuts are safe to
delete and can always be put back.

Hi Malvern,

I did not find any shortcuts in any Startup folder. Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Hi Ricky.

Thanks for your suggestion. I downloaded the xp_mydocsopens.htm and ran it.
I was a bit nervous about running it since my Norton Anti-Virus messaged an
alert on the file - but I took a chance anyway. Well unfortunately it did not
help. I logged off and logged back onto one of the accounts and as soon as I
logged on, I still got two "My Documents" folders appearing. Running the
script changed something in the registery. I hope it's ok. Any other
suggestions. Thanks.
