I have recently partitioned my hard drive, I have installed XP on this second
partition. The first partition also has windows XP but it has become
corrupted. I would like to copy the My Documents from the first partion to
the 2nd partition. However when I attempt to acess My Documents I am denied
acess.
Any help on this problem will be much appreciated.

How to Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421

Read *carefully* - do not just skim the page and start following steps.
There is important information there dependent on the version of Windows XP
you have.

Also - when you want to search for archived posts - use Google Groups
instead of the clunky/unreliable/crap web interface that you are now using.

http://groups.google.com/

It would have easily (along with a regular Google search) found this
answer...

Search using Google!

Next time save your important data to a new non MS folder, and be sure
to have standard backups of the data in them.
