My documents folder

Each time that I start my computer, it opens up to the "My
Documents" folder.

Can anyone help me on how to get the computer to open up
on my Desktop.

You can prevent windows from opening "my documents" this
way:

-right-click the bar at the bottom
- select properties
- click the start menu tab
- click adjust
- lastly uncheck the box saying something like "open my
documents" . I'm using xp dutch version, so I don't know
how it is being said over at your side.

Check the key
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]. Data in
the value Userinit must look like C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe (or
simply Userinit.exe). It is possible that this data is duplicated.
