i recently wrote a long important document that took all my time..
and when i opened it the next day it was all coded in little boxes!
i tryed changing the font type but that didnt work.
how do i change it so that i can read it again?

I have a couple of documents that do this, for no apparent good reason. I
can open them normally if I set tools > options > general > confirm
conversions at open and when prompted choose the unicode option.

hmm i followed what you said, but then when i tryed to open it again it just
changed it into other strange characters

Try one of the other file open options eg html or from the encoded text
option, click through each choice and see if one of these displays your text
correctly.
