When I try to open a document (its size changes to only 16 kb, why?), the
dialog box show
"WORD ENXPERIENCED AN ERROR TRYING TO OPEN THE FILE" then it is followed by
some suggestions. I have followed the suggestions but it doesn't work. I've
restored my computer too.

Is it a virus *the other word document files were not affected, just this
one*, what should I do? It's a very important document for me. Please help.

I hate to come along after the fact to say this, but the phrase "it's
a very important document" should automatically be followed by "so
that's why I keep multiple backup copies of it".

No, it isn't a virus -- at least, I never heard of a virus that only
attacked one Word document. Word documents are hugely complex files,
and they can become corrupted. The article at
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/CorruptDoc.htm explains what
might happen and what you can do that *might* retrieve part or all of
the document.

I've backed up it a month ago. I forgot to backup it this month but every
page of it was really important.
