My disc cleanup wont work

HELP!! My disc clean up wont complete it's tasks even after 8 hours of the processor's thrashing. IO know the cashe has to have alot in there....what the heck can I do ??

search and type in
disk cleanup old compressed files
delete the registry entry from article

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches

Locate the Compress old files subkey, right click it and select Export. This creates a backup, just in case. Then right click the Compress old files subkey again and select Delete.
