My computer with windows xp freezes frequently

My computer with windows xp home edition freezes
frequently and it tells that it is nvidia twinwiew's
fault, but i updated driver,
Updated antivir xp doesn't find any viruses, and
i ran all maintenance programs, and still my
computer freezes.
My computer is compaq presario 6540 fi
with these upgrades: Nvidia geforce 4 ti 4200 with agp 8x
256 mb 266 mhz ddr ram
Sonera cable internet.
NOTE: I am NOT pro.

Have you tried uninstalling the nvidia driver before installing the updated
vrsion?
