I know the subject may be a little off but here are the specifics:
Whenever I insert a disc into either of my DVD drives, the names of the
discs do not upate whenver I'm looking at My Computer. Now if I restart my
computer and leave the discs in, then the titles of the discs will show up
but if I take those discs out and either a) insert another or b) leave the
drives empty, My Computer will not update to reflect the change. I have
already changed the Explorer Update registry setting
(HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Update) to 00 so that Explorer will
update faster but that has not helped.

I think that it may be one of the programs I have installed on my machine.
I'm currently running Windows XP Professional SP2, all of the latest
Microsoft updates.

Is there a setting some where that will change this? I was thinking of
performing a repair installation but I wanted to check with the user groups
to see if this is a common problem.

Any help is appreciated. Thank You

Microsoft's Autoplay repair wizard _might_ fix this problem. See this post
from Alex Nichol, MVP.

It may be a fouled up autoplay setting, so that the autoinsert
notification is being lost. Microsoft people have written an unofficial
fix up tool for Autoplay. Without great confidence, I suggest you try
it - it is not on a MSoft site, but can be downloaded from
