"My Computer" will not open

Everytime I try to open "My Computer" or "My Documents" or "Control Panel"
etc, my computer freezes for about one minute and then the folder does not
open. This is getting really frustrating. Any help?

Make sure you don't have virus on your PC and if you still have problem you
have reinstall the OS.

Go to Start-Run and type in "msconfig". Then press enter or the OK button
Go to the "Services" tab.
Scroll down to the line starting with "WIA" for Windows Image Acquisition
and uncheck it.
Restart your computer and see if that does not help.
Some scanner installation corrupt this service and cause just your problem.
