My computer shuts down on its own without any warning.

1. My laptop (HP, PC with XP svc pack 2), shuts down on its own without any
warning. I tried power settings and set it at never shut off, but when I
click "save as" I get an "indicates two revision levels are incompatable"
error message. I tried what was posted for that error message (delete all
other settings and type one in with a save as) and it hasn't helped. In fact
what ever I type for the "save as" name doesn't show as a setting name, it
just disappears. I only have one power setting name, which is one the PC has
saved as "always on". I don't leave the PC always on, I shut down after use,
but wanted to set it as always on in order to stop the automatic shut down
problem. Any ideas as to how to fix this problem?

2. Also how to I get into BSOS to see what the settins are?

Is it getting hot? To get into the Bios is dependent on the Computer make
and model. Go to HP website and look up
your Model #. Or if it came with a Manual it would be in there.

Thank you for your help Rich. I don't think the laptop is getting hot becasue
it is setting on a Targus cooler. (It blows air on the underside of the
laptop) and the laptop is in an air conditioned room and I never had this
problem with it in the past, and it was always in the same location with the
same targus cooler running. Any other ideas as to why this is happening?
