Hi- I just found you guys- I didn't realize there wasn't a support line to
call with problems withe the Beta version of the spyware program. Last night
I downloaded updates to the program, and in the middle of the scan, the
program locked up, I got it closed using task manager, thenI couldn't shut
down, I had to pull out the battery from my laptop. This morning I tried
turning the laptop back on, it went thru the welcome screen and partway
loading desktop icons before locking up. Any suggestions how I can uninstall
the spyware program if I can't get get the computer to competely turn on?

Hi

Restart your PC in safe mode, press F8 during reboot

Scan again with MSAS, choose fullscan with all options checked.

Your PC is probably loaded with spyware and give MSAS a chance
to remove this in safe mode.

You can also revert your system with system restore in safe
mode but
I think its better to give MSAS a chance. It is already a
great app.

I like Plun's idea, even though I disagree about what is happening. I've
seen several reports of "freezes" or lockups as part of the definition
update process with the newest set of definitions--5711.

I've seen the symptom myself, but on my machine the freeze was fairly
short--only a few minutes. I felt that I knew what was going on, so I let
it go, and indeed all has worked well since.

So--if you haven't given it some time--I'd recommend retrying the normal
startup and giving it some time--at least 5 minutes or so--to complete
whatever is happening. The problems may not have all been local--there may
have been server issues as well, which by current reports should be
resolved.
