I downloaded the program. In set-up when I got to check
to have the spyware work automatically, I checked ok, the
software sent me back instead of forward. From then on my
system was locked-up.Had to shut down computer to
continue. This program SUCKS!!!.

Really, 20 million people who have downloaded and used the program MUST also
suck, right? And Leo Laporte from G4tv must also suck since he recommends
the app, right? Just wish there was some way for people to go to the store
and buy a REAL LIFE!!

I think the problem you are having is that some spyware has removed the
security os some registry keys. When MSAS reaches these keys it loops
indefinately. The only workaround for this problem is to use a different
antispyware app to deal with these keys.

Try Ad-Aware
(http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tag=srch&qt=ad-aware&tg=dl-2001),
Spybot
(http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-1),
and ewido
(http://www.download.com/Ewido-Security-Suite/3000-8022_4-10326287.html?tag=lst-0-1).
When installing ewido make certain to remove all checkmarks on the
Additional Options screen, there will be two of them. When installing
Spybot, make certain to not select to use Immunize/Immunization. If you
install ewido's guards or Spybot's Immunization feature, they WILL conflict
with MSAS Real-time Protection, which is among the best out there at stopping
spyware from getting onto the system. However, Real-time Protection WILL NOT
prevent problems coming from infections already on the system before the app
was installed.

NOTE: Run a full system scan in Safe Mode (press F8 before initial Windows
screen during boot/reboot, if neccessary, press F8 again to get to the
Advanced Options screen, and then select the Safe Mode option without any
other words than Safe Mode) with all three apps. NOTE: Make certain to only
run one scan at a time, removing what it finds, and go on to the next app
until all three apps have been run. NOTE: Make certain to update all three
antispyware app's definition files before booting into Safe Mode, as you WILL
NOT have access to the Internet from within Safe Mode.
