My Computer icon

I use the Classic View for my Start Menu and have always had a My Computer
icon on the desktop, not a shortcut. I inadvertently lost this icon and
cannot get it back. When I drag it from the Explorer it ends up as a
shortcut which i don't want.
How do I get the actual icon back? Anyone? TIA.

Stan,

Right Click on the desktop and go to properties. (this opens display
properties which can also be found in the control panel) Click on the
Desktop tab > Click on Customize Desktop > checkmark the icons you want and
click ok > click apply > click ok > and there you go!
