"My Computer" function

Windows XP was installed on my new computer. Most all
programs/links are easily accessible. However, whenever
I click on "My Computer", everything freezes and a window
pops up indicating the program is not responding, and
gives me a choice to end program or cancel. I eventually
have to hit control/alt/delete to reboot my computer in
order to continue.

Any suggestions??
