my computer does not shutt-off automatically

after i intalled win xp pro my computer does not shutt-off automatically i
have to do it after i receive the message "it is now safe to turn off your
computer".
any help?

A probable cause is that your installation found the BIOS does not
adequately support the 'Advanced Configuration & Power Interface'
(ACPI). It then installs the older APM, but leaves it disabled. Go to
Control Panel - Power Options, and if there is an APM page, check
'Enable APM' on it.
