Hello,
I recently had a DELL tech on the phone to help with issues on my computer.
He had me go through step-by-step instuctions(this may be long here).
Anyway, it started with a blue-screen, next thing I know, he is having to
rebuild Windows XP Home Edition. Somehow he says he can, ok! I listened, of
course..
he said it would take sometime for this, so I waited and waited, only to be
dropped by him, said I would get a call from another person, to finish this
situation. I didn't know what to expect, next. By now my cell phone needed to
be recharged, couldn't work with the next person. Called back and left a
message, no one answered! I waited for that call(wasn't till next day). In
the meantime, I shut down my puter, waited overnight, only to start the next
day...said, You have NO Paging file, or is to small, we have created one for
you!
See, I do remember the first Tech, taking me to the paging button(clicked),
did this do something? Or was it him over-writing XP Home Edition. What
started to be a blue screen, now is a nightmare!!! I went to Safe-Mode, tried
to see this issue. Went to the Paging button, values were temporary, and I
don't know squat...from there! Also, my Dial Up was lost, it doesnt dial up,
NO SOUNDS...but, when turning on my puter, it takes oh so long to load. I see
my desktop, icons, but can't sign on, in AOL 9.0 I then go to windows folder,
try to sign on, didnt work! I relized I may have to download AOL 9.0 again,
since I didnt see it! Reloaded, not working...
I had another disk, AOL 7.0..said I have 7.0!!! Clicked on Current Members,
signed on! But, I notice a file transfer at the end of my sessions, why? I
now have had to do this, in window files...where I go to sign on! The Icons
to 7.0, won't load on desktop. Not normal, I know...And, still NO sounds, to
dial up! When on, I went to Windows Update, got some...slow at that! Then,
tried the Update from AOL 7.0, to AOL 9.0, online, took hours, didn't work,
the Icon is there!!! Noticed that: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\IUCT.DLL...Damaged,
today! What is this? So lost, what would I have to do, to correct all this?
Downloaded the Service Pack 2 last night, nothing changed...So lost!
