MSCONFIG startup list

Hello,
Does anyone know how to clear out the Start up list of unchecked items in
MSCONFIG?
Everytime I sign on to AOL it places an icon in the toolbar tray by the clock.
I have to go in MSCONFIG then to start up and uncheck the AOL tray
listing. There are about 4 of them listed that are unchecked from previous
sign ons and I'd like to clear them out.
There are also other programs that have been unchecked and I want to remove
them to.

The unchecked items will show up in one of these two registry keys.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupfolder

You can manually delete them or run the script available from this web site to
automatically clear them up.

On a side note, you might want to consider using this program available from
Microsoft when you want to disable start up items.

AutoRuns for Windows v9.21

Once you've downloaded and extracted the files, run autoruns.exe. Look on the
Logon tab for your startup programs.

Good luck

Hi Kelly,
Thank you so much for the information-I noticed that I had to check off the
item first then go into REGEDIT to the Registry key and delete it from there.
Very smooth and no problems.
Thanks again,
Al
