My Computer arrange order

I've been having a problem for a while now. Everytime I get a file select
box popping up, if it starts in My Computer, it arranges drive letters by
free space. Everything I try to reset the list to sort by drive letter works
until a new box opens, when it's back to arrange by free space. Is there a
setting somewhere i'm missing to select the default arrange by setting?
 
The column headers of each of the items, drive, size, etc, can be
doubleclicked to sort by that item.

Explorer, View menu, Details, then doubleclick "Name" header.
