My computer and other folders wont open

I have recently started having a problem with my computer where my computer, my documents, control panel, search, and other folders will not open. When i click the icons the desktop flashes and then nothing happens. I can still access my computer through IE, but that is the only way. Norton does not find any viruses, and I have cleaned my system of spyware with adaware and spybot. Any help is appreciated. I am using XP Home.

Try going to IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced options tab and
disable third-party browser extensions.

If this works, use BHODemon to see which browser extensions you have:
