My computer & all folders icon clicked cannot be open

Can someone tell me how to fix this problem?

I click on 'My document' 'My computer' & all folders on my desktop the
computer has no reaction to my click command...

Do I need to format the whole computer again? I do not want to lose my data
inside!

Kindly help please...
 
Right click the shortcut > Now tell what is in bold

Can you use right-click?

What is your mouse click setting set to? Single Click or Double click?
