My clock is now Wrong! (Two hour change for Daylight Saving Time)...

W

William Dowell

Hello!

I woke up this morning, to see my computer had changed the clocks in
accordance with Europe's time changes (with summer time etc etc). However,
it didn't move the clock by ONE hour, but by TWO!!

I did not touch the clock settings at any point prior to or after the change
which should have happened at 2am last night local time.

I am in FRANCE, have settings for France ("(GMT+01:00) Brussels, Copenhagen,
Madrid, Paris")

Never had a problem under XP, and this was an upgrade.

Is it safe to change this back manually, or will it mess up outlook, Windows
Mail and other time dependent components of the system ? (I have not entered
any new appointments today to mnimise risk)

Clearly I am slightly disturbed that Windows Vista has got the change
"wrong". I know there has been the energy act in the USA, but as far as I am
aware, this did not affect Europe. I therefore did not download any patches
for the USA change.

Anyone else affected?

Any advice on what I should do ? I am happy to change it manually, but will
wait 48 hours to see if this is a sensible idea...

Are you by any chance Dual Booted with another version of Windows? If
so each will change the clock when you boot up to them .....

It was probably a mistake to not update the TZ system <g> There were
changes other than in the USA/Canada that MS had to take into account.

Go ahead and change it, it will not bother anything. mobile laptop users
change them all the time to match the time zone they are in all the time

I'm in the UK and noticed this too, just get it to sync again and it should
stay that way.
