my camera isn't recognized by word

i am trying to upload pics from my camera and word won't recognize it when i
click on insert picture from scanner or camera, it just displays my scanner
and my camera is turned on and connected by a usb port which i know is
working... i have downloaded all of the firefox and mozilla software offered
by the kodak company and i don't know what to do now...

Download the pictures from the camera to the PC and insert picture from
file.
