Mutiple copies of an email- from Offive and Vista

I recently had to replace a laptop and installed Office 2007 and Windows
Vista Business Prof. I have everything working together except-- when I send
an email with a larger attachment (roughly 400k and above) Outlook shows it
did not go, their is an send/receive error message- but what the program(s)
really seem to be doing is sending multiple copies. I sent a 1MB message to a
friend, and he received 12 copies, yet Outlook showed none had gone. Good it
was a friend.

Any idea on where I should start trouble shooting? I have two email
accounts- both work.
