mute from media center player coming on during music playback

The Media center mute or volume control suddenly comes on during music
playback when using creative or windows media center. T cuts on then off. I
can tell because the volume line from the remote control says 25 when it
does it. Help. I've just refromatted and this has to be a driver problem.

Oh, by the way , I am using a toslink cable hooked to a yamaha reciever. No
speakers hooked to yhe sound blaster zs pro card.
