Media Player 10 in Media Center PC 2005

I have a Gateway 834GM Media Center PC 2005 with all updates including
Rollup 2. I chose not to have protection added to music I ripped from CD's
to hard drive. Will this cause any limitations with Media Player or Media
Center when I go to play or download other Music? Also, I have built in
Realtek Sound on motherboard. Do I need to uncheck the equalizer on Media
Player and Real Player so it uses the equalizer from Built in sound drivers?
It seems that there is a conflict there if I don't uncheck this even though
both players are setup to use default sound device.

Also, I setup my sound system to use 5.1 surround since I have 6 speakers.
When I change no of speakers in PowerDVD from default of 2 to 6, it never
gets updated in Media Player device Properties. Am I suppose to change it
there also, or is there something wrong with one of the installs for the 2
players--or possibly that I still have them setup to each use their own
equalizers?
