Adding Music to Media Center

OK, lets see if I can explain. I have music on my Media Center, BUT when I
add additional music and tell Media Center to load my music in, everything
that was on Media Center now is duplicated. DO I have to add additional music
individually. It seems that it does not just update the new ones and ignore
the old ones.

Firstly, MediaCenter newsgroups are better suited to your questions.
Supplying version information is very helpful in many cases.

You may be adding copies of old tracks in new locations. Without knowing any
of those sorts of details it's very hard to deduce whether you have a real
problem or not.

Hi Mike,
Please see if this helps,
Media Center 2005, Version 5.1.2715.2773 Update Rollup 2

I have a dedicated location for my music. But lets say I have 2 albums of
Chicago on it. then I decided to add 2 MORE Different albums. No remember
this is a dedicated location for ALL my music.

When I put the NEW albums in the particular folder "CHICAGO" it now has 4
albums in it. 2 that are already on Media Center and the 2 new ones that I
just put there.

So now I tell Media Center to load the Chicago folder on and the first 2
albums are duplicated.

Do I have to load the 2 "NEW" ones individually??

It would be much easier if I could tell Media Center to update my music
folder and now worry about the "old" ones duplicating.

thanks
John

Well MediaCenter may do things differently to plain old Windows Media Player
on Windows XP, which is why I suggested posting to the MediaCenter
newsgroup.

It may also be a MediaCenter bug. I don't use it so can't comment. Again,
use their newsgroups.
