Must use send/receive

Hi,

Using Outlook 2003......one of my users must use send/receive instead of
his sending and receiiving being "automatic"
what setting could be the cause of this ? I noticed his "use exhcanged
cached mode" box is checked...but I am not sure if this could cause
this....he does use a laptop that should (when docked) act just like
everyone elses desktop but when he undocks he should see his mailbox
synchronized upon exiting /launching outlook
any hints about how or why he must alwasy use send/receive while docked
would be greatly appreciated

I have seen this when Outlook is Offline, which can happen if cache mode is checked and the laptop is undocked without shutting down the Outlook first.

Is Offline checked under the File Menu - if so remove it. Outlook should now show connected in the bottom right corner. If there is nothing listed there - then click View- Status Bar.

Let start from there first - if it is not the answer we can delve further.
