Mail not delivering without doing a Send/Receive

Hi,

My boss has Outlook 2003. Starting today, he is not receiving his email
until he clicks on Send/Receive.

I checked the Send/Receive options and it is still set to do Send/Receive
automatically. No settings have been changed.

Does anyone know what might have caused this, or better yet, how I can
fix it :)

You must set up an automatic polling for mail AND it must not be less than
every 10 minutes or it will not allow the servers to reset properly. Tools,
Options, Mail Setup, Send Receive button. Also uncheck Send
Immediately--that's not automatic polling and could send unfinished messages
too soon.

This has been driving me nuts. I think the "drop down" is a little deceiving.
