Must type http://

In order to remove the nasty hugesearch.net spyware, I had to edit my
registry and remove occurrences of it.

After doing this, I now have to type in the full address to go to a site. I
used to be able to type in www.website.com, now I have to type in
http://www.website.com.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
