Must type full URL with HTTP

My installation of IE requires that I type in full URL address with HTTP://www.website.com...I have all the normal options selected in Tools/Options/Advanced (the same as other computers in the house). Any suggestions?

I run Ad-Aware often and Norton Anti-virus.

This was probably caused after killing some Spyware.

Check these registry setting and fix as follows: If this is not the problem
post back.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\
DefaultPrefix default="http://"

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\
Prefixes
"ftp"="ftp://"
"gopher"="gopher://"
"home"="http://"
"mosaic"="http://"
"www"="http://"

These settings were already as you list. I agree that Ad-Aware likely zapped a setting somewhere...any other suggestions?

I have the same problem only with certain domains (like my website host, tnlc.com). It's very annoying!

I don't run Ad-Aware and my registry entry is intact.
