Music Playback Problem

Whenever I listen to music files, such as mp3s, flacs, or even from my USB
turntable, the music periodically cuts out, but just for an instant. I'm not
sure if this is caused by other programs which are running concurrently
using CPU resources, or something else. I do have an antivirus program,
along with a firewall and spyware detector always running. Does anyone else
experience this? Should I be closing as many other programs as possible when
listening to music? I'd like to solve this because I want to convert tracks
from my record albums into mp3 files but I don't want the music cutting out
like it does now. Thanks.

If I knew where I was I'd be there now.

This happened to me on my former machine when I updated my display. The
people who sold me the new display (a computer repair place) couldn't fix
the problem, so I ended up buying a new machine. (there is a lot more to
this story, but most of it isn't applicable to your problem) I kept the new
display, but went to an Intel chip machine which (apparently) was fast
enough to handle both the new display and play my music without hesitating,
too. None of this may apply to you, but the essential thing is make sure
your motherboard can handle your display without interrupting your music
playback.
