I ripped a track from a CD and selected it to play during a ppt presentation
that I saved as a PPt Show. It doesn't play. I must be missing something
obvious. Could size e an issue w/ this version on the software?
Thanks,

A movie from a CD? By any chance do you mean DVD? If so the content is
copyright protected and can not be used in PowerPoint in this manner. You
might want to look at PFCMedia or PFCPro as an alternative.

Austin, thanks for the prompt reply, but it is a music track that I ripped
from a CD, using MS Media. I followed the directions to get the music to play
during a photo album presentation. When I preview the presentation w/in the
workspace, I can see that PP is looking for the file, but nothing begins to
play. Nothing plays when I preview the slideshow, and nothing plays when I
save the presentation as a Power Point Show and package it for CD.

The file is 1979 KB, and a WMA file. Is that too big? Would it take more
than 3 minutes (how long I waited in the workspace preview) to load that file?

Thanks!

Sorry, my mistake. :)

using MS Media.

But the problem is still the same. If you use Windows Media Player to rip
the CD then the file still contains DRM (digital rights management) and you
can not use it in PowerPoint.

Well, Shoot.
This is only for private use; didn't think about that possibility. Makes
perfect sense, though.
Thanks for helping me, Austin.
