MULTIPLYING 500sp' BY $0.49

I am trying to multiply numbers with units by another number but answer reterns #Value! How do I make formula ignore letters and characters and only take numbers for formula calculations
 
Almost,

Please show the before and desired after pictures of the cells you want to
change. It is hard to fully understand your message without an example.
