multiple videos in PPT show play on top of each other

I have a weird problem that has only shown up on 2 PC's so far. I have
about 6 or 7 .avi clips in my PPT presentation. It plays just fine on 5
PC's I've shown it on. On two, both laptops but different models/makes
entirely, after the first video plays, it stays on the screen on top of all
subsequent slides and videos that play. I know for sure that one of the
laptops has Media Player 8 and I'm pretty sure the other one does as well,
but I'm not sure that one laptop that it does play fine on doesn't have MP8
so I"m not positive that is the problem. Any help here would be greatly
appreciated. We are handing out 200 of these presentations to prospective
clients so if I knew what the problem was, when they called saying they
couldn't play it, I could advise them of the fix.

Thanks much,
Gina Emory

Gina,

This may be completely unrelated, however, I have exactly
the same symptom running a PPT with embedded MPEG1 clips.
It works fine on all the PCs I've tried; but exhibits the
same frozen overlay behavior you describe on some Macs.
The PPT functioned correctly on a G4 (MacOS10.1.5); but
wigged out on an iMac (MacOS10.1.2). Both macs have
Powerpoint X.

On the iMac, I was able to make the PPT behave correctly
by replacing the MPEGs with QT clips. I am also able to
playback the offending MPEG clips outside of the PPT with
no problems.

I'm wondering whether this is a processor/ram issue -- my
test iMac is an older model without lots of memory.
