Multiple versions of Windows and want to remove XP

I seem to have installed Windows XP as well as Media Center on my PC
in an attempt to fix a crashed system. Now I continuously get a "Low
Disk space on drive D" message. How do I remove the XP installation?
When it boots it gives me both options with the newly installed XP
listed first and Media Center (which the PC came with factory
installed and I do not have software for)listed second.
Both boot into there respective OS's but I want to remove the XP
version as I have no need for it.

You can do this:
1. Boot into the OS you require.
2. Locate the folder for the unwanted OS. It might be C:\Windows,
C:\Windows.1 or some other folder that you chose at install time.
3. Rename this folder to C:\Windows.bad.
4. Wait a week.
5. If all is well, delete C:\Windows.bad and empty your Recycle Bin.
6. Click Start / Run / notepad c:\boot.ini {OK}.
7. Locate the folder name that you identified in Step 2. It will be a line
that looks like so:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS.1="Microsoft Windows XP"
"WINDOWS.1" is the unwanted folder.
8. Delete this line.

If you wish to play it really safe, omit Steps 6 to 8.
