On my PC I have 2 OS: XP pro and W95
2 questions:
1. How can I delete one of the OS
2. As my xp pro is a company select one, i want to shift to xo home with an
upgrade version. how can I do this: delete xp pro and upgrade from w95?
delete w95 and overwrite xp pro?

Since upgrading from Windows 95 is unsupported, you should
consider performing a "clean install" of XP Home.

The Windows XP CD is bootable and contains all the tools necessary
to partition and format your drive. Follow this procedure and allow
Windows XP to partition and format your drive:

NOTE: It would be best to physically disconnect all your peripheral hardware
devices, except for you mouse and keyboard, before installing XP.

1. Open your BIOS and set your CD Drive as the first bootable device.

2. Insert your Windows XP CD in the CD Drive and reboot your computer.
3. You'll see a message to boot to the CD....follow the instructions.
4. The setup menu will appear and you should elect to delete the existing
Windows partitions, then create a new partition, then format the primary
partition (preferably NTFS) and proceed to install Windows XP.

5. Clean Install Windows XP

6. After Windows XP is installed, visit the Windows Update website
and download the available "Critical Updates".

7. After installing the critical updates, be sure and visit the support website
of the manufacturer of the computer to download and install any
available Windows XP compatible drivers, such as video adapter
and audio drivers.

You can not upgrade from 95 to XP.

delete w95 and overwrite xp pro?

You can not downgrade from XP Professional to XP Home.

That leaves essentially one choice. Start over and do a clean
installation of XP Home.

Thank Caree and Ken,
so if my understanding is good, I have to start from scratch. But as the xp
home version i actually bought, is an UPGRADE version, not a full one,
therefore I thought that I have to start with another OS installed. Please
advice me.

No, the requirement to use an upgrade version is to *own* a
previous qualifying version's installation CD (not an OEM restore
CD), not to have it installed. When setup doesn't find a previous
qualifying version installed, it will prompt you to insert its CD
as proof of ownership. Just insert the previous version's CD, and
follow the prompts. Everything proceeds quite normally and quite
legitimately.
