Each time I turn on my laptop, it does not go directly to the Windows
display screen. The following prompt is displayed...

- Please select options to start:

- Microsoft Windows XP Professionals (this is repeated 6 times)

- Up & down arrow keys to move highlight to your choice

- Press enter to choose

Could you please tell me if there is anything I can do to remove the prompts
so that the system takes me directly to Windows.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

Rey & Donald, thank you.

I was out of town for a few days and did not take my laptop with me. I
returned home today. I saved a backup copy of boot.ini before editing. I
noticed that the repeated files that I removed exist under the Local "C"
Drive. I tried deleting them but unsuccessful.

Could you tell me if I erase the back up copy, will they disappear from the
"C" drive? Thanks in advance for your help

Hi,

Right click My Computer and Select Properties.
From there click Advanced.
Once there, select Settings under Startup and Recovery.

Uncheck the first box that reads: Time to display....
And change the second box to 3 seconds.

Apply/ok your way out.
